In Cruel Encounter, no two playthroughs are ever the same. With over 200 unique cards, varied encounters, and constant decisions between safer Day paths and riskier Night rewards, every session unfolds differently based on the choices your party makes.
Designed for cooperative play, the game creates shared tension where every decision is discussed, debated, and sometimes regretted together. It’s easy to learn but difficult to master, simple rules guide the experience, but true success comes from strategy, timing, and teamwork, not luck. Every action carries weight, with real consequences like lost gear, incapacitation, and setbacks that can impact the entire group.
As the game progresses, your party grows stronger, upgrading weapons and equipping powerful trinkets, creating a satisfying sense of progression from vulnerable to formidable. WHAT MAKES CRUEL ENCOUNTER DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TABLETOP GAMES?
Although Cruel Encounter draws inspiration from classic fantasy tabletop role-playing games, it requires no dedicated Game Master. Card draws and dice rolls handle the flow of the game automatically. The system is easy to learn and doesn’t require studying a complex rulebook before playing. Our goal is to keep the game accessible while still delivering meaningful strategy and challenge, making it enjoyable for a wide range of players and ages.
HOW EXPENSIVE WILL CRUEL ENCOUNTER BE?
At this time, we’re unable to provide a final price for Cruel Encounter. Pricing will be determined based on the outcome of the Kickstarter and production costs. Our goal is to make the game as affordable as possible, but we aren’t able to share a confirmed price just yet.

Based on our playtests, a typical game of Cruel Encounter lasts between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the number of players.

Like any game, Cruel Encounter has a learning curve, but it is designed to be accessible for ages 13 and up. Whether you are new to tabletop games or more experienced, everyone has an equal chance to succeed, as strategy and teamwork matter more than prior experience.
IS CRUEL ENCOUNTER FAMILY FRIENDLY?
If Cruel Encounter were rated like a movie, it would fall around a PG-13 rating. The game does not include inappropriate language, but due to its setting, some cards may reference or depict smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol, gambling, or thievery. There are also moments of violence and occasional darker or unsettling imagery, though nothing overly graphic. As with any game, we encourage parents and guardians to review the content and decide what is appropriate for their child.
WHEN WILL CRUEL ENCOUNTER BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?
If the Kickstarter is successful, we will move into production and begin bringing Cruel Encounter to life. While we can’t provide a definitive timeline just yet, we are committed to making the process as efficient as possible and are just as excited as you are to see the game completed.
