WHAT'S THE GAME'S OBJECTIVE?
Work together or fall apart. Every decision matters, every risk has a cost, and every encounter pushes your party closer to triumph… or collapse.
Choose your path: face the Day, where danger is lower but rewards are scarce, or step into the Night, where enemies grow stronger, choices grow sharper, and the payoff may be the only thing that keeps you alive. Earn gold, secure powerful gear, and adapt your strategy because survival isn’t just about strength, it’s about knowing when to push forward… and when you’ve already gone too far.
Everything leads to one final moment: the Overlord. It does not hide, it does not weaken, and no one has ever defeated it until now. When the time comes, you stand together as a party for a final encounter that will decide everything. Survive together… or lose everything.

CHARACTER CARDS
In Cruel Encounter, you and your party can choose from 9 unique heroes, each with their own strengths, playstyle, and role in the group.
Will you lead from the front, support from the shadows
or bend the battle in your favor when it matters most?

WEAPON CARDS
In Cruel Encounter, the weapon you carry shapes how you fight and survive. Weapons are divided into Basic, Improved, and Superior, with each offering strengths across Melee, Range, and Magic combat styles.
You begin with a single weapon, but as you progress, you can upgrade and acquire new ones to fit your strategy. Combat is simple but dangerous roll to hit, roll for damage, and if you miss, the enemy strikes back. Weapons can break, and in a Cruel Encounter, one mistake can cost your entire party, so choose carefully.

TRINKET CARDS
In Cruel Encounter, trinkets are more than simple items, they are powerful tools that shape your strategy and give you an edge when it matters most. Ranging from Basic, Improved, to Superior, each trinket offers unique effects that can enhance your abilities, protect you from danger, or turn the tide of an encounter.
You can equip multiple trinkets, but choosing the right combination is key, some offer steady advantages, while others provide powerful, moment-defining effects. In a game where every decision carries weight, the right trinket can be the difference between survival and collapse.

ENEMY CARDS
In Cruel Encounter, the land is filled with enemies determined to stop you before you reach the Overlord. Enemy cards aren’t just obstacles, they shape each encounter with unique abilities, varying difficulty, and unpredictable threats that force your party to adapt. The wrong choice can lead to a quick defeat, but greater risks bring greater rewards.

In Cruel Encounter, Strategy cards give you a crucial edge when it matters most. These low-cost, single-use cards can only be played during combat, offering powerful effects that can shift the outcome of a battle in an instant.
Whether you’re turning a failed attack into a success or protecting yourself from damage, timing is everything. You’re limited in how often you can use them, so every decision counts, because the right move at the right moment can mean the difference between victory and collapse.

In Cruel Encounter, every turn forces a choice: Day or Night. Day cards offer safer encounters and steady progress, allowing your party to prepare, recover, and build strength with lower risk. Night cards, however, are far more dangerous, enemies are tougher, consequences are harsher, and mistakes are punished, but the rewards are greater.
This system creates constant tension, pushing players to decide between caution and risk, knowing that the path they choose shapes their chances of surviving what lies ahead.
